NC700 Service Cost

It could be quite handy to have a database about service costs at the different Honda agencies.

So please let us know about the name of the Agency, work undertaken, and cost involved during services to your NC700.

Honda Centurion did the 1000km Service, oil and oil filter, bike wash, R1400.

This might be a very stupid question - to my knowledge the first service is only due at 12 000 km, or within 12 months - whichever comes first ?

I might be completely wrong, but my NCX has almost covered 1000 km, so I desperately need to find out more details about the first service .

Always service your new bike at 1000km, thereafter, in the NC's case every 10 000km, I however I change the oil and the oil filter every 6000km, and Ive never (in 32 years and 24 bikes) had any engine issues .....touch wood !!

Wow - thanks for your comments - I've almost missed out badly on this one .

I've just phoned the local Dealer - they also confirmed that the NCX needs to be serviced at 1000 km ! The salesman has never mentioned anything in this regard, but I guess it would be unfair to blame him for anything...

Anyway, I will try to make an appointment Monday morning - for the time being my NCX will be stranded untill it gets serviced .

Boet, a 100 or 200 km over the 1000 mark wont do any damage and no dealer will complain

about it either, from what Ive read, how you ride your bike in the "Consumption thread"

The difference in service costs seem to be quite substantial out there.

That makes a lot of sense - the oil and oil filter on my NCX will also be changed every 6000 km.

My service at Honda Wing Tygerberg also cost R920 so at least they are consistent. As far as I can remember there was not much in the way of spares except oil & filter so I will check the invoice again to see exactly what was done. The salesman said they also check valve clearance but dont know if they did!!

Found my invoice for 1000km service at Honda Tygerberg:

Labour
Service : R350
Oil : R226
Sundries : R45

Parts
Oil filter : R108
Washer : R5
Chain cleaner : R60

Total R796.38 + VAT = R907.87

Just realized no spark plug or air filter listed. I assume they feel it is not unnecessary to replace it, wait for 12000km service.

I paid R939.70 (including R115.40 VAT) at Honda Pinetown for the first (1000 km) service.

The first service does not include valve clearance adjustments - before the service it has been confirmed by a staff member that valve clearances get checked for the first time during the 12 000 km service.

Description according to Invoice:

Replaced engine Oil, Sump washer & oil Filter.
Inspected all Lights and adjusted rear brake light Switch.
Inspected front and rear Brakes.
Adjusted rear Brakes.
Inspected and corrected Tyre pressures.
Cleaned, lubricated, &adjusted drive Chain.
Inspected all lever & cables.
inspected and re-torqued all nuts and bolts.
Inspected and corrected Fluid levels.
Test drove bike.

Labour casts R 355.00


Parts:
Oil Filter R108.64
Drain washer R5.94
Actevo Prot R73.68 (I do not know what Actevo Prot is)
Sundries R60.00

Total Parts R409.30


I Did find Honda Pinetown's service very professional, and do not have any reason to complain.

My "Encie" is booked for tomorrow so I will report back on it.

Apart from the first service - and I hope they will check on the tappets because I find them a leeeeeetle on the noisy side, I want them to adjust the gear lever down a notch as I find it a bit high for the foot, and Also the clutch lever down a notch as this would be more comfortable for me.
They must also fit my number plates and licence, which was not done for the delivery (which I had to fight for - I also had to fight for the first service booking - these people dont seem to understand that they are here to serve customers and not the other way round).
Another item is the right hand handle bar end weight thing which the salesman told me should be loose - never before have I encountered this on any bike.
Will see tomorrow.

Looking forward to see your post........I have paid exactly 64K for mine - brand new, with 20kms at the clock. The price included everything - numberplate fitted as well.

The only thing that bothers is the oil listed as 37 units @ R10.00 each. but seems to be in line ...... more or less ....... with Tygerberg's price.

I had to baklei to get a booking ( since I spend most of my time (( usually weekends only)) away so had to do the service while on holiday which ended on friday) but they were ok about it. Also I took it in before 8 am and get it back b y 13:30 washed.
So pretty much happy.
