I decided to keep record of my NCX's fuel consumption, and since my first calculation I am really impressed !
My first calculation has been done after 373.5 km of dayly commuting, and 11. 13 liter of fuel has been consumed - that equals 33.55 km /L !
During this period one peaceful (56 km) trip on the Highway at 110 Km/h has been covered - the rest was only normal dayly commuting to work , which included a few robots, two steep hills, and slow traffic as well. During these normal commuting trips I never exceeded 90 km/h, and the engine never exceeded 3000 RPM.
It would be very interesting to hear from other owners in this regard as well !

I have done over 4000km on my NCX since the beginning of December and as she is fully ridden in and a low revving Honda, I have no reservations of riding her reasonably hard a lot of the time. I typically get 3.5-3.6 L/100km on my daily commute and local ride arounds. Worst consumption was 4.1/100km on a hard long ride with mountain passes and long stretches where I was cruising between 130-140 km/h.
During my commuting before the calculation I did not make a special effort to get good fuel consumption results - so I believe I might be able to get even better results.
Having said that, there has been no reason / opportunity for faster riding , therefore the engine RPM's never exceeded 3000 RPM.
According to my next calculations, I got 31. 51 Km/ l (next tank of fuel) .
On this tank I have done a couple of short trips on the highway, at 120 - 130 km/ h, and about 50% of the total distance has been covered during daily commuting to work. The engine Rpms never exceeded 4000 Rpm during the highway trips .
At this stage I am quite convinced that the NC700's fuel consumption is probably at it's best during normal commuting in traffic - when the engine's rpm's never exceeds 3000 Rpm.

Very impressive figures, although I ride hard I am still impressed with an average of 24,4 to 27,0 Km/l. 50% of my daily 120km commute is high-way so i spend most of the time above 4000 rpm

I did my first "re-fuel" last night. Was quite happy with the 27.1 k/l that I seem to have achieved. This with some "playing" to see some basic responses to the gearbox. I have the larger screen on as well, will that significantly change consumption?
I own the DCT version and have been amazed at the gearbox performance. I have made some comments under the ride reports section on this forum
I also have a taller screen, (Kappa) which is just slightly shorter than the tall Honda screen., but I think the wind resistance factor should almost be the same.
To my experience higher engine Rpms at the NC700 engine (at any given gear) is the biggest factor which increases fuel consumption.
I just wonder whether fuel consumption at the Coast could be better than at the Highveld ?

Since my previous post (above) , I decided to undertake a round trip to 'Maritzburg at 100km / h , and then do a fuel consumption calculation. The weather has been excellent today, and I couldn't resist the temptation to go on a slow, peaceful ride.
When I left I did find it a bit difficult not to go a bit faster, but I eventually managed to Ride at 100 km / h most of the time. On my way back I really started enjoying the slow ride, and during the last 15 to 20 km I was riding even slower - at 90 - 95 km / h.
On arrival the tank has immediately been re-filled - and to be honest, I could,t believe my eyes !
I managed to get 38.67 - yes, thirty eight point six seven kms per liter !
Now how brilliant is that ! ;D

I got 27 K/l on my first refuel - playing and testing the sports mode etc commuting in JHB and long fast ride last Saturday. I am being a bit better and more conservative on my current tank of fuel and will let you know the numbers when I refuel (probably on the weekend) This on a DCT
