Yes I must admit......I also like giving it stick.....but then again I get between 22 and 26 on a litre.....only with the gail force I drove into she gave me 18 to 19 which I call very good as its double what a car would give me or more

Daily commuting give me 25km\l - lots of stop and go. And the go from intersections is full throttle to get away from the cars.
On a recent log distance trip, gunning it and through a couple of mountain passes 20km\l. On the way back on the N , doing mostly not under 145 still got 23km\l.
Nothing beats the NC's fuel consumption. Well, nothing that is so enjoyable to ride. My Loncin 200 got 29km\l but does not compare the NC. Willing to sacrifice the some fuel for the riding pleasure.
hi everyone. I find the comments about the fuel very interesting. I know that isolating one specific variable for fuel consumption quite tricky, but given that a lot of you seem to be quite in-tune to this, has anyone had any noticable difference in consumption depending on the type of fuel you put in? I realise that leaded and unleaded fuel is quite regulated and that there should in theory be little difference between say BP, TOTAL, SHELL or ENGEN. I cant seem to notice thought that I dont get the same mileage if I put in different brands, but its quite hard to measure. Id be interested to know if anyone else has some thoughts on this. Thanks! Safe riding. Wilhelm
I've wondered about this too. If we listen to the advertising, there are many claims like better performance, cleaner engines etc. I mostly use BP, simply because it's just down the road from my home and the only one on my direct commute route. Occasionally when not commuting I have filled up at another brand pump but cannot say I was aware of any difference. There must be many different variables impacting on this.
I usually fill up with sasol out of habit.....mostly because I own two diesel busses and I use Sasol's 50ppm. I usually fill up with what is close by when I need fuel ........It would be interesting to see official comparison tests. I don't in general squeel about fuel consumption. When I had my gti I knew it could be light on fuel if I had to drive it nice...........but then WHY buy a gti.......
I have not really been monitoring my fuel consumption, but did try to see how much I get from a tank... most to date was about 330km, but when I filled up, I only put about 11lit, so def had more left in the tank... I was just nervous because of the red flickering light I will be filling up this afternoon, so will have a look again.

In my experience, once the fuel light comes on and stay on I have about 4l left. Then make sure I don't ride more than 40 - 50km before filling up.
Over the years I have not noticed any significant improvement in fuel consumption between fuel brands. Personally I prefer Shell & Caltex. Although, in the past I felt performance using Engen & BP was not as expected and as a result I stay clear of these. Will also use Sasol but is still upset the Sasol is subsidized with tax money.
If you want to get nice stats have a look at www.fuelly.com I was amazed at how much I spent on Fuel last year. Plus you can compare with other bikes/cars of the same model. Here is my page. www.fuelly.com/driver/gidie/nc700x One probelm though is that the programmer needs to adjust the price fuel costs. Because if you say it is R13.25 it tells you you must have made a mistake. hehehe
