So - After doing a whapping 3200km on my new baby, the rear Tyre is Kapoet. Swung past Honda West Rand and the took some photo's and started the warrantee claim on my tyres. Problem is that Honda has no stock
The tyres are on back order and since the process started I have added another 1000 km and still no luck and the tyre is now rally becoming an air-plain tyre. With our wonderful weather at the moment I am sh!tting myself each time I get on and ride, especially when it is wet. I phoned jean last week and he said they have a replacement tyre (second Hand though) for me for the mean time while I wait my new back order tyres. Having it fitted Saturday morning. I will keep you guys posted, but atleast Honda came right to the in sorting out my(and a few others) problem.
Hi, I had a very pleasant experience to get my replacement tyre from Honda. Visited my Honda Dealer in East london, they took photos and a week later phoned me to come into the workshop to have my new Metzler Z8 fitted. Very impressed.
I am still waiting for my replacement Tyres Honda received the back one, but the front is still on back order. They did help me out with a temp rear to help me survive the wet season, but this one is now also reaching its final stretch. If the front one takes much longer, I will probably have to get the back fitted in the mean time.

You are absolutely right, the advantages of learning to ride a bike Up until recently I have been a passive rider, but as my confidence grows, so I am riding more aggressively.
Definitions: Passive Rider : Pulls of slowly, rides slowly, no lane-splitting, sits in traffic (All the newbie stuff) Aggressive Rider : Pulls of quickly, corners sharply, lane-splits, cruisers through traffic, pops the occasional wheelie, performs hard braking, etc. (My definition does not include beating up cagers and froggers )
PS. I have searched the web, and cannot find any information on the stock tire that is supplied by HONDA. Will keep searching, the only information that I can glean from other NC riders, is that this tire is made of a very soft compound and is more suited for the race track than it is suited for commuting.

It's also made for cooler Climates and in Asian traffic. As we have seen on Youtube consists of 90% Motorbike riders going to work and back, so slow city riding and not South-African open hot road riding. This is why the tyres go so quick (heat & Speed). They sit very well in the dry and about that I do not complain, but they don't last and my rain riding has been very scary. I also RIDE my bike. They say this is not a high revving motor, Not the case in my hands. I love the red line and top speed section to much.
I am also very happy to hear that your confidence levels are improving. Well done Sir!!

During 2013 when I bought my NCX, these bikes came with high quality tyres which were perfect for commuting.
I have no idea why Honda started fitting these "low quality" tyres - which are clearly not suitable for commuting. Maybe they got hold of these at a very low price, without doing any proper research ?
Kappa Touring Screen, SW Motech Crash Bars, Raptor Desert Fox Spotlights, SW Motech spotlight Mounting Brackets, SW Motech Center Stand, Givi E370 Top Box with Light Kit, Givi Back Rest for Top Box, Dzell Radiator Guard (aluminium), Dzell Side Stand Expansion Plate. Modified BMC Air Filter, Dimple magnetic oil Drain Plug, Seat Saint, Givi V35 Panniers, DIY chain Oiler, “Sit & Fly” type seat cover, Hand Guards, Highway foot Pegs, Adjustable wind deflector.
I would just like to ask if anyone has experienced uneven front tyre wear with their NC's ?
Mine has the Bridgestone bt23's on and the rear is still doing good but the right side of the front is already smooth but the left still has lots of thread. Its like it happened overnight just noticed it couple of days ago. I have done 10,000km on these tyres. I have not consulted any service shops or anything thought I would ask here first if anyone has had this problem before.
Nope I have the same tires and no issues yet (17000 km) Done one track day on them but mostly commuting (70%), longer day trips (20%), touring(10%) (% time spent not distances) Do ride the same route every day?
