You sure have changed the look of the bike big time, wow, just the tyres alone make such an impact. You must be planning lots of gravel travel in the saddle. Keep us in the know.
hoping to do a sani pass trip in 2 weeks - sat 7th. if anyone is keen we leave howick 7am
Unfortunately Heidi don't do the 17" size I needed for the front, the pirelli was relatively good value at R1200, seems to handle ok thus far after 800k on it
The dual purpose tyres look awesome! Not sure if the suspension set up will warrant a comfortable ride but I am sure to try them when the OEM set is done!
I might be biased, but I think the NC will make a better dual sport bike than many of the purpose built passenger liner size 'dual' sport bikes out there.
Sump and exhaust header guard, radiator guard, fork boots, and some plan with a rear mudguard and you've got youself a DS bike for a bargain.
Will send pics and report once done! If u check the usa forums some guys do this with the nc, hence the inspiration to set it up as a ds. Almost bought a new klr but thank goodness found the nc first.
Realistically its never going to have the ideal suspension travel, so the ride will be crappy on the rougher stuff. But doing this does open u up to thousands of km of relatively smooth dirt, with the caveat of avoiding the extreme stuff. So sani pass should be interesting!
