Is there a big difference in price between 160/170/180...
Obviously the profile will differ between the 3 sizes.
........And if any of the forum members can post photo's of their bikes with the different tyre sizes fitted it would be greatly appreciated, I have to replace the Dunlops that came on my bike soon and would like to see if the bigger tyres make a difference to the asthetics of the bike.

Price difference is not that big - I paid about R200 more for when my first PR4 (160) has been replaced with a PR4 180. My first PR4 had to replaced prematurely due to damage caused by a nail. Looks like I should get about 30 000km on the 180 PR4......... sitting at about 22 000km at the moment.
Kappa Touring Screen, SW Motech Crash Bars, Raptor Desert Fox Spotlights, SW Motech spotlight Mounting Brackets, SW Motech Center Stand, Givi E370 Top Box with Light Kit, Givi Back Rest for Top Box, Dzell Radiator Guard (aluminium), Dzell Side Stand Expansion Plate. Modified BMC Air Filter, Dimple magnetic oil Drain Plug, Seat Saint, Givi V35 Panniers, DIY chain Oiler, “Sit & Fly” type seat cover, Hand Guards, Highway foot Pegs, Adjustable wind deflector.
my dad always used mitchies, metzeler or he combined the 2 metzeler in front and mitchie at the rear. He swore to the combination on his XJS Midnight special. But that was him and that was almost 30 years ago.
Tyres have advanced a fair bit since then and i like the same tyre front and back. They heat up the same and you get to know how your tyres feel around a bend. I never trusted the square dunlops. and the bike felt like a superbike after i fitted the mitchies. she just turned in better.
That was a very good read and I agree on all Accounts. By widening my rear tyre the whole feel of the bike changed and I regained all my lost confidence that was lost on the Dunlops. I would absolutely recommend going wider on the rear tyre. I have done about 22 000km on my PR4's and the rear is almost due for replacement. I will however try and stretch it just a little bit more before replacing it. The front however will probably outlast 2 rear ones.
Tin tin, that is a very good point and I will just note on that, that on our bikes, going from 160 to 180 is not going to be negative in any way, but going to 190 and changing the Profile, would be. If you look at our rims, they are in fact made for the max 180 size and that the min size they can handle is the 160. It would then be ok to assume that Honda opted to use the cheapest option on our rims to start with.

Those were the Original 160 Dunlops
Best I have atm of the PR4 180, so hope this helps
Okay so I decided to get ride of my orignal (crappy) Dunlops and repalce them with Michelin PR4s before my road trip end of the month.
They didn't have a standard PR4 for front so they gave me a PR4 GT (actually designed for hevier bikes) for the same price. Maybe it's just because I became so use to the Dunlops, but I swear my steering & uandling of the bike is lighter... O well, as long as the PR4s keep the bike upright and me safely on the roads.
I'm running scorpion trail 2 front and back. Bought the bike on 24k km's. They were already fitted. Have now 40k km's and still running strong. Front is about 2k away from replacing. Rear probably 5k at least. I have nothing bad to say about them. Very satisfied. Plus I deliberately take the road less travelled when I get the chance
Hi, this morning I fitted Pirelli GTs on my 2017 nc after 18000kms on the stock dunlops, the front dunlop had a defect on the right hand side with a bubble running along the whole tire just off centre and it was perishing badly. Fitted a 180/55 at the rear and kept the 120 front standard. So far very happy and can't wait for my commute home of 105kms.
Hi there After 15000km I replaced my factory fitted Dunlops with Bridgestones T30. An annoying howl now emanates from the front wheel. The Bridgestone representative kindly replaced the front tyre with another tyre with a different tread pattern. The noise persisted. I took the bike to Honda and they say it's a combination of the shape of the front mudguard and the front tyre tread pattern. When the mudguard is removed the noise is eliminated. The new NCs come with Bridgestone Battlewing BW501. These tyres are not available aftermarket. I any suggestions.

I have done 11kms on my gt and would definitely have them fitted again. Should be good for another 20k.
