Well that was quite an easy job, the video was very helpful as to what to expect! It took all of 30 minutes from start to finish without watching the video along the way! You only need an allen key and star screwdriver to get the job done. Only tip is to have a system to remember where all the different bolts / screws go first time around. Maybe take a few photos along the way. Will check the consumption now and report back. Apparently K&Ns work better after a time when they have a chance to collect some dirt??? Go figure!! Watch this space.
Glad to know! I am thinking of doing the same when the dust settles for me.
Ja the K&N usually needs to be a little dust-filled before it works well or it will let in too much air which the engine is not programmed at the Factory setting... so they say...

The K&N works great!! Have improved consumption by at least 2km/l and throttle response is silghtly better. I now get 29 - 30 km/l even got 33km/l on one tank!!
I am considering importing a K&N Airfilter , if not available locally. Has anyone imported any components recently, and if so, did the current strike at the Post Office cause any problems ?
Kappa Touring Screen, SW Motech Crash Bars, Raptor Desert Fox Spotlights, SW Motech spotlight Mounting Brackets, SW Motech Center Stand, Givi E370 Top Box with Light Kit, Givi Back Rest for Top Box, Dzell Radiator Guard (aluminium), Dzell Side Stand Expansion Plate. Modified BMC Air Filter, Dimple magnetic oil Drain Plug, Seat Saint, Givi V35 Panniers, DIY chain Oiler, “Sit & Fly” type seat cover, Hand Guards, Highway foot Pegs, Adjustable wind deflector.
I might want in on something like that, almost due for 24k service. used K&N's in almost all my cars, and at very least, if the performance was the same even, it would just require a clean, and refit, as opposed to the replacement aspect?
Thanks, I tried TK Imports, but they do not seem to sell these filters any longer. They actually advised me to contact TD Agencies in Florida Hills, in order to get hold of a BMC filter.....so I spoke to Dirk, a very helpful guy at TD Agencies.
In short, I ordered a BMC filter from TD Agencies at R1355.10, Excl. VAT.
Contact details for BMC air filters: TD Agencies, Florida Hills.
Tel 011 839-1660 (Ask for Dirk)
P.S. BMC air filters are similar to K&N filters - it can also be cleaned, oiled, and used for a "lifetime".

Well, since I ordered the BMC filter, I did some additional web surfing for more info about the filter I bought.......and I must admit, at this stage I am not even sure whether I will ever install the filter ..
In short, I stumbled across the ad below - which clearly indicates that the BMC "Street" filters are "for track use only" .....and although this ad indicates that this "race" (Street) version allows 15 % more air flow than the "standard" versions, other ads indicate a 25 % difference -which is WAY too much to my liking:
