Hi. Took my NC750 DCT in for it's 2 year annual service to Honda Sandton on Tuesday 22nd December. They called back to say it was a basic service, but they needed to replace sparkplugs and rear brake pads. OK, fine, go ahead. They called back to say that the parts were on back order from Honda SA. . If your business is servicing motorcycles, surely you keep these items in stock? It is now 12h30 midday on 24 December, Christmas eve. When I tried to call to get an update, they are closed. No communication. Hopefully they are open on Monday and not closed until January.
I will not be returning to this establishment.
Can anyone recommend a privateer in Randburg, JHB area that I can take my bike to for servicing, general maintenance, now that the guarantee is expired.
Got the bike back yesterday, no apologies forthcoming from Honda Sandton. Business as usual as far as they are concerned? Scary prices: 2 year service, R6,800 (Done 16,000km) Air filter - R1000 Rear brake pads R2000 2 Sparkplugs R450 each Plus labour etc
Hi Dave! I had a similar experience with them about 3-4 years ago where they also replaced spark plugs etc on the first major service (can't recall the kms off the top of my head). I ended up involving Honda SA since Sandton could not prove why the plugs needed to be replaced etc and in the end it was proved they never even touched the plugs or the oil filter etc. I think there might be a rant here on this forum somewhere as well about it.
The plugs from factory are iridium plugs, meant to last a helluva long time. I've got more than 60k km on my bike now and mine is still fine. Just some food for thought. Oh, and breaks are super cheap actually.
