Just for interest. I recently had my fork springs and shock spring replaced with Hyperpro progressive springs. The rear shock spring also has a higher weight carrying capability. I found that my rear spring softened over the years (60 000km) and I could see the bike sag more under weight and feel the difference on road, especially with two-up riding. After much research and speaking to suspension experts, I decided to go for the progressive springs only. The shock was serviced, but is still in great condition. My wife and I are both very happy with the difference. The suspension feels stiffer, but more compliant, if that makes sense. The bike feels more planted around corners as well as in a straight line and comfort is greatly increased. The rear spring handles the weight much better. Cost was just under R7 500.00 with labour at Offroad Cycles in Pretoria.
Good choice. I had these fitted to my Africa Twin, XT660 and have them on my GS800 front end. The difference on dirt is amazing and there is less diving under braking. I am so far happy with the OEM shocks on the NC, but mine is very new. Time will tell.
