Awesome. And where did you get them? I can't seem to find a local dealer for Puig screens.
got hand guards from bikegear.co.za... very prompt and good service.. Paid R1500 for them which isnt bad cos 2 years ago he wanted 1400 a set..as for puig sreens i got it from overseas, cant remember the name of the company.. will organise some pics once i washed the bike with this rain it looks more like my off road bike i used to have
Hey Roy, if I may offer some advice, when thinking about getting a screen, include your height, as well as the inseam measurement of your trouser leg. This will give people a pretty accurate idea of where your helmet is in relation to your arse. Touring screens and the buffeting or vacuum created by them is something of a dark art, with not only technical considerations to take into account, but what you want/expect from the modification. It can be a dark hole into which you can throw a lot of money to experiment to get the right screen for you. Some items to consider are, do you want to see through the screen or over it, what do you want to achieve with it? aesthetic change or functional. How much coverage do you want for weather protection or is it just comfort from the wind. Wind noise around the helmet. Took me quite a while to find someone with the same measurements, and criteria from who I got the right setup, and it worked the first time out
Hi Murray, thanks for that. I have already bought myself a touring screen made by Puig (R2000 later from Full Throttle) It has made a huge improvement to the wind noise, and the buffeting I was experiencing when the wind blew. Not quite what I was looking for, but much better. I am still contemplating one of those additional deflectors for the top of the screen, I believe that they are very effective. I am also going to experiment with mounting my screen at slightly different angles to see if there are any changes I can feel / hear
Hey Roy, yeah, I have heard the same, or using and extender onto which the screen fits. The tilting also does have an effect. Just make sure that you get enough airflow coming in under the screen to prevent a big low pressure area, which then tends to pull the head/helmet forward.
