I thought a ride to attend the Impala Rally and the Buffalo Rally in one Go would be a great Idea. So I set off from Cape Town on Wednesday 7 March for an Overnight stop at Colesberg and the next day on to the Hartebeespoort Dam. Attended the Impala Rally on Friday 9 March. On Saturday 10 March I set off for Durban with and overnight stop in Ladysmith. The ride along the Van Reenen's Pass was absolutely glorious and I achieved 40 km/l on that stretch. On Monday 12 March I set off from Durban to East London and the next day I rode down to Port Elizabeth. On Wednesday 14 March I rode from PE to Mossel Bay.I did not stay for the Buffalo Rally and left Mossel Bay on Friday 16 March for Cape Town.
I covered 4180 km and used 140.3 l of fuel at an average of 3.3l per 100km.
The tyres (factory fitted Dunlops) however needed replacement having covered a mere 17600km. I fitted a new set of Bridgestone T30 tyres.
Thats a decent ride. Plenty bonding time and excellent fuel consumption. Thankfully those awful Dunlops only lasted 10 000km on mine. Mine gets new tyres tomorrow.
