Last weekend we did lekka ride from Ct to Tulbach for breakfast. We left at 7am and it was still pitch black and started heading up the n7 towards Malmesbury on very very misty morning. We couldnt see very far ahead of us and it was bliksem cold, I literally thought my nads were going to fall off and my riding partner was wearing his summer gloves and couldnt feel his hands anymore.Maybe he did that on purpose so it would feel like someone else? who knows.
We stopped it Malmesbury for a much needed coffee from Mc D's ( Not an ideal stop but it was the first thing we came across with coffee ). After a short break we headed to Riebeeck Kasteel and then a short cut onto a dirt road towards the R44. The dirt road is in good nic but soft sand so it kinda felt like riding with pap tyres, Also lots of loose stones flying up from oncoming cars, I got hit a couple times but no damage done.
From there we headed to Tulbach, the sun was started to come out at this point and the mist was clearing up. By the time we got to Tulbach around 10am we were ready to destroy someones breakfast menu so we decided to look for something that wasnt in the town center so we drove straight through the town for about 10km and the only thing we saw was a Bush pub and restaurant about 2km out of town of the right hand side. So we missioned back and stopped their for some coffee and breakfast. Awesome little spot for anyone venturing out that way, Coffee and breakfast are well priced and a general nice vibe from the place.
After we ate all their food and drank all their coffee we decided to leave cause there wasnt anything else to do there and they wouldnt let us practice wheelies in their garden : ( we headed towards Baines Kloof pass on the R46 through Wolseley.
Baines Kloof is a 25km pass, Super narrow and rather bumpy. There are plenty of sharp bends but you need to watch out for oncoming cars as they cant see around the corners and tend to take them wide so best advise is to ride in the middle as much as possible, not to far to the left else you will hit a rock and go over the edge and not to far to the right else you will hit a car and then go over the edge. You wont really go over 50km per hour unless your a daredevil noobcake who likes hospital food and wants to eat through a straw, But all in all a nice pass.
After the pass we heading into Wellington and to the R45 to Baden Powell drive and home along the coast, We were home by 1pm, so a nice morning ride minus my nads.
