Having just spoken to Honda West Rand about replacing front brake pads I thought that this thread might be helpful if one needs to find the cost of parts.
Hey Ryc, I can get a set of SBS sintered front pads for you for around R400. Fitting them takes all of 10 minutes. Pm me if you would like to do a DIY and save a small fortune. I have them in mine and the improvement in braking over stock is Massive. I live in Randpark Ridge so not far away at all
Thanks for the offer but bike is still under warranty If I fit anything else but Honda parts I lose the warranty. This was confirmed by Sandton and Cayenne
hi Neil, i might be interested, my 24k service is coming up, which i know is going to hurt, have already replaced the airfilter with K&N, will be getting the sparks from autozone, and both my front and back brakes will need to be replaced.
I am getting SBS pads for both front and rear from Cayenne @ approx R400 per set - way cheaper than Honda. Will fit them myself, as it a very quick and easy job.

I disagree with this completely! Never has changing brake pads effected any warranty I know of and I am speaking of Cars, Trucks and my previous bikes. We can choose if the dealers replaces your brake pads or if we do it our selves. My company fits our own Brake pads(Trucks & Bakkies - NEW Vehicles on HP) and I replaced the Wife's cars brake pads for years while under warranty and never had a issue. Personally I believe they told you that to get at your money. Only way you will have a warranty claim on brakes is if you break something, so if you don't know how to do brakes, then it is best to have it done at the dealers.
My front brake pads are also shot and I will be doing them myself. I will however stick to the Honda pads while the bike is in warranty, but I see no need to have it fitted by Honda.
I agree! How can the pads affect the warranty. Anyway, check out Motorcycles for Africa in Craighall Park. They are authorised Honda Dealers and charge way, way, way less than the Honda Agents for most things
