this forum has taught me a few things 1. service costs - i think i'd rather get a back yard mechanic to do the services from now on as i'm outta warranty 2. spare key for frunk is important , so not to bend the main key 3. headlight cover and radiator covers are a must 4. types of tyres , screens 5. paraffin for chain cleaning 6. advise for hand guards
so i need more advise i am still new on the nc700x , not even 2 months so i'm struggling on the handling and my hand hurts after riding i even tried a handlebar raiser now so i hope that resolves my sore hand issue - also once the new screen arrives i hope the comfort level rises ..
and i haven't even ridden in the rain with this bike yet so i'm pretty nervous
Hi Cpor94 1.If u just got ur nc '12 and u its already out of warrenty ? did u get it 2nd hand? 2. Only why that happens normally is rushing to get things out of the frunk and to ride out quickly hehehe 3. Yeah that i would agree as replacing headlight glass/radiater is costly
as for ur hands being sore. I would guess u abit tense or heavily nervous on the bike as i had the same issue of grippin the handles like i was goin to fall off. Ridding in the rain . Just go more slower. BUT JUST ENJOY YOUR BIKE AND RIDE MORE !
Thanks chrisgp007. Yes 2nd hand . That key is jammy if that's even a word.. for the petrol tank seat hinge.. Eish my hand . I think I'm getting old and I do try to relax but find myself grabbing on.
I'm not afraid of the rain... I'm petrified haha. Good advise thanks
If your key is jamming then it is either bent or you need some graphite powder. If you can't get graphite then use the lead shaving from a pencil, work equally well. I like the 2B, gives great shades...
Think you are holding an egg in either hand when you ride, the grip will loosen over time. If you can't hold an egg in either hand, then riding is probably not for you...
It is ok to be worried about riding in the rain. You will survive longer on the road then those who don't resepct the weather.
cpor94, Do not feel alone, I have not ridden a bike in wet weather either. I have never been on a bike until +-2 months ago, and when I bought the NC750x as my first bike, friends and family said I was out of my mind, I should have started with a 250cc and buy a 2nd hand bike.
They were sure I was going to have an off on that bike, well its 2 months down the line and 3,500 km's later, and guess what , I have not had an off.
I am a little skeptical and apprehensive about the season coming up, I have already mapped out my route (so if I have to go slow I can do it safely), worked out my max speed ( in theory), bought my rain gear, made sure I have waterproof gloves ( as far as waterproof gloves can be ), got all my high visibility gear to put on.
I feel like I am a pilot getting ready to take off, but I think I am as prepared as I will ever be, now its just waiting for the rain so I can do my test run, then it's practice, practice, practice....
