My name is Mark Hollander, from Mindalore, Krugersdorp and I have just recently got a bike learners licence, never ever been on a bike before, bought the Honda NC750X as my very first ride, and in my opinion, she is a very sweet ride, she is very forgiving with my mistakes.
I have never really had an interest in bikes, however I have turned to riding a bike because the monthly fuel bill is killing me, and thats just commuting to work and back, no extra riding. I am saving upwards of R700.00 after bike repayments, insurance costs and the fuel used on the bike.
I am just sorry I did not start sooner, the feeling of riding a bike is unexplainable, it has to be experienced.
to the world of commuting. Just don't leave it there, try get out on the open road too. That is even much more fun that watching out for blind drivers through the suburbs
I look at all the "new" NC's on the road with longing every day when I commute in my cage now... My 30km trip one way in my car is just not the same as on the bike.
When you Woesranders see a red Ford Figo (I have a Think Bike sticker on my back window and tinted windows , just smile and wave lol
by mistakes what do you mean ? maybe i'm making these mistakes too
Considering I have never ever ridden a motorcycle before, the Gear Changing was a little foreign to me, so there have been a few occasions where I have changed gears before engaging the clutch, and she changed gears without the clutch engaged.
While I was learning the finer details, I would often drop the clutch instead of releasing it slowly, and she did not throw me
There was, and at times still is at times, the propensity to brake hard, when soft braking is all that is needed and she did not throw me.
On the third day of learning, I put my right foot down to balance the bike when I came to a standstill in front of my gate, only to find that sure footing is not guaranteed when there is loose sand, so she dropped on the exhaust side and did only a few minor scratches on the can, the end of the handle bar and the tip of the brake lever.
Like I said, "She has been very kind to me."
