I have had some road noise coming from the steering channel, sound like it is from front wheel. It was like that from the starts and I thought it normal. fitted a Fenda extenda hoping it would help but alas no improvement.
Is that normal and are other members also experiencing it.
I would appreciate feedback, to decide whether it is a problem I should bring to my dealers attention.
Hi Louis. I also get this same noise on my integra...... I have seen people complaining about this exact noise on the international forum......Its not really unbearable on the integra but it is there...
I could be completely wrong, but I started thinking that the front end design is causing a vacuum inside the steering channel, and air probably gets sucked into the channel from the bottom of the channel.
Air could also be deflected upwards into the channel by the front forks, and the movement of the air inside the steering channel could cause that "hollow plastic" (wind ?) noise.
Anyway, this is pure guessing...

Glad to know it is common noise and not something wrong, surely hope that some engineer boffin can come up with a solution, I have a open face helmet and hear it very clearly, on the highways the noise seems to be most at about 110kmh and then the wind noise takes over. Seems I must invest in some decent earplugs.
Do this sooner rather than later. I used foam initially and then switched to something more permanent recently. Bottom line is I have enough hearing damage due to countless hours (days, years?) of load metal and rock music Don't want to add to that...
Very good advice, listen to it, while you still can! I have also had many years of biking, working on and around trains, DIY (angle grinding etc) and worse of all being a muscian. Now in my senior years I have serious hearing loss, not to mention a hundred xmas beetles living in my ears. Ever wondered why everyone in the house says, why do you have the tv so loud. Then you know it's started and the damage cannot be reversed. I use those foam plugs, then the other day I decided to order a kit online. Those kind you mix the two components and mold them in your ears for a perfect fit. So click, click now I wait. Credit card is working. Weeks go by finally the package arrives. Yep remember I'm a senior now. Why is this package so small, open it and find, clever old man has ordered and received the lanyard string only and not the ear plug compound. Damn most expensive piece of string I have had shipped from the UK. Old age what can I say.

Eureka, I was sure the nosie coming from the front wheel was abnormal on my bike. Took it to the dealer this morning to check it out. They explained the same thing that came up on the forum being the wind channelling through the steering box. However when driving it they concurred something is not right. The chief mechanic took it for a ride and came back proclaiming that the problem is fixed - apparantly some degreasers leave a residue on the brake linings which causes the brakes to make the whistling sound. Solution - after washing apply the brakes sharply (ABS must kick in) for 4 or five times and the problem is gone. The mechanic did just that and my problem is gone. Just a note for something experiencing the same

I've tried that a couple of times today, but the noise is still the same. The bike has been washed on Saturday though -would that make any difference ?

Can't say that I can hear the "noise" on the Integra, then again the tinitus is so bad it proberbly over rides the brake noise anyway. I don't recall having ever had the ABS kick in yet on the Integra, luckily, so not sure how it will feel when it does, especially with this linked system. Maybe I shall find a suitable location and give it a try a few times, then I'll know what to expect in the event of an emergency. Seems like the front brake sends a lower force to the back disc and the back brake sends a lesser force to the front disc, so what happens when both are applied with much force at the same time. Interesting cause and solution though and good to know.
Also noticed the noise as I was riding to work this morning without the ear plugs as I was in a rush... Solution? Plugged my ears and all was sorted...
Hello, I have the road noise problem on my NC700 and I think I have tracked this down.
The roads around here Norfolk UK can be quite rough and on some of the roads, cars have made two smooth tracks with a less worn and rougher area down the middle.
When I ride on the centre track (the rough part) the noise is louder and if I change to smoother area the noise is quieter.
I can hear the difference quite it is pronounced.
If I completely close my visor the noise is much less and not a problem.
