Hi ALL Pleased owner of NC700X. I need to know which set of tyres to fit for road and gravel purposes. Mainly road, but I would like to tackle the Swartberg Pass.
LOL....it's centre of gravity is already as low as most supersports ..... no need to lower it further unless you need it for ergonomic purposes. (ie lower seat to aid in flatfooting).
I have seen some of the UK guys mentioning that you can drop the frontend by 10-15mm on the forks without changing handling too much. To drop the back end you would need to get LONGER suspension linkages for the monoshock - these are available online, but have not seen them in SA.
Neil, Those Pirelli Scorpion what mileage would one get out of them. I am still on my originals and have already done 18 000km. Been up sani and katse dam Lesotho. Price wise?
Hi Marty. I have the Pirelli GTs on mine and a, very happy with them, but should have gone forr the Scorpioms as they were around the same price @ R3800 a set. A work colleague has them on his Truimph 800 and raves about them. Done 15000 km and still have some life left. Personally, I just really like the look of them. Pity you can't get Anakee's with a 17inch front.
Pirelli Scorpions stick like the proverbial sh1t3 to a blanket, but my back tyre has only 12,000km on and needs replacement - this on a DCT which cannot really do burnouts or spin on takeoff. Factors contributing to this could be my extensive use of rear brake in slow traffic and the fact that I am no lightweight
tell me has any one tried the Bridgestone battle wing. It is a 80: 20 tyre. When looking at the profile of the tyre it has deep enough tread for dirt. The only issue is that you can not get it for the front.
Michelin Anachy!! Brilliant tyre in the rain and it's also 80:20, so can do off road with it. Only flaw I have with it is that they do not have a Front tyre for the NC as they cater more for the GS and Transalp tipe bikes. I will however keep the Pirelli Scorpion in mind and am playing with the idea of fitting Pilot road 3 to the front when I do, do tyres. The rear However will be the Anachy!!
I had them on my Transalp and I felt Saver in the rain than I ever felt on any bike.
